Do I have to use the cremation service my vet offers?

No, it is entirely your choice which cremation service you use. You must ensure you have clear descriptions of each stage of the service, from waiting for collection to the final return and be sure you understand them, are assured by them and you are happy with the time scales. If your vet is unable to provide this information, then we recommend you do your own research. Unfortunately, most of the companies dealing with veterinary surgeries collect the waste at the same time and this is often a main factor in a surgery choosing a company. With large numbers of surgeries to collect from, the handling is often more in line with a waste collection service rather than a cremation service. Although the crematorium may look very nice on their website, the service they provide through the surgeries may be quite different to the one they describe and provide.

All pets that come to Evermore Pet Cremation are treated like one of our own. Your pet will be handled carefully at all times and we assure you that they will be treated with the care and respect that they deserve.  We always use an Evermore Pet Bed when collecting your pet from either your home or from your veterinary surgery – we DO NOT use plastic bags or sacks.  Of course, you may wish for your companion to be transported in their own bed, which will be returned to you.

Our individual cremation service means that your pet will be handled and cremated on their own. We do not cremate multiple pets simultaneously or communally and then separate ashes out afterward.

We will cremate your pet within 24 hours of receiving your permission and payment.

Each Cremation is different – it can take between 1-3 hours depending on the size of your companion.  The process is never rushed – we will take our time to ensure that your pet is treated with great care throughout the process.

We may be able to carry out same day cremations upon request, however this does depend on whether you choose to have a standard Scatter Tube or Pouch. If you prefer to order one of the beautiful Urns or Caskets, it will take a little longer before your much loved pet is ready to go home.

We ensure that your pet is handled and cremated individually with great care and respect. Each pet is cremated on their own thus ensuring that you always receive your own pet’s ashes back. We provide a certificate that is returned to you with your pet’s ashes.

In the event that your pet sadly passes outside of our normal hours of operation, do not panic – they will be ok until the morning.  Bodies go through natural changes that occur once they pass and cooler temperatures help to slow this process down. We recommend you make them comfortable in their bed – you may wish to adjust their final resting position and cover them with a blanket, which will bring a sense of peace and tranquility. Keep them cool or place them in a room with a window open. If it is unusually warm you can place freezer packs under their blanket. This is an opportunity to give family members and surviving pets to have the time to say goodbye. It is a normal and healthy part of grieving to want to keep checking on your pet. Take as long as you need to say goodbye. When you’re ready, call us and speak to a member of our friendly team who will discuss the process and ensure that your pet receives a dignified and peaceful cremation.

Yes. Many people contact us well in advance of the death of their pet to make sure that their exact wishes can be carried out. The details of both the pets and their owners are kept on file until our help is needed.

We provide many products to help you create a befitting and lasting memory for your beloved companion – please see our Memorials and Keepsakes. In addition, we invite you to send us a picture with a few words for us to include in the Evermore ‘Book of Remembrance’

All Cremations are individual but our current prices are clearly stated on our website – you can find our prices here. Your pet will be weighed prior to Cremation and you will be charged accordingly.  VAT is included in our price. Unlike many other service providers, we do not charge for Fur Clippings and Paw Prints.

Once your pet has been taken into our care, we will gently weigh them and confirm the cost for the cremation. If you have chosen an alternatvie Casket or Urn we will also confirm the price for you. Full payment is required before the cremation service begins. If possible we prefer payment to be made via BACS, or cash at time of collection/drop off. This will allow you to focus on your pet once they are returned to you.

Yes, a personal Certificate of Cremation of authenticity will be provided with every Cremation.

You are welcome to come to the crematorium to collect your pet’s ashes once we have them ready for you. Alternatively, we can also return ashes directly to your home, although an additional charge may be made for this service, depending on your location.

You can choose to have any small soft toys or collars cremated or returned to you. All bedding items will be returned to you with the ashes.

Unfortunately we do not provide this service – we only cremate domestic pets up to 49Kg in weight.

If your question is not covered here, please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with an answer.
